St. Mary School, as a nonpublic school, operates on a tuition basis. Educational services are offered through parish subsidy and tuition payment by parents.
1. Registered Catholics pay "parishioner rate" for tuition in our elementary school.
Note: In this policy, parishioner is defined as:
a) Parent(s) and child(ren) worship regularly at a Catholic Church;
b) Contribute financial resources to the life of the parish by using offering
envelopes;
c) Support parish life by offering their time, talent, and treasure.
d) A failure to comply with any of the above three (3) policy definitions
may result in a reassessment of your tuition rate status as "Parishioner."
2. Non-registered Catholics and Non-Catholics pay "non-parishioner" rate for tuition, as determined annually. It should be noted, however, that non-parishioners do not assume the total educational cost of a child. St. Mary Parish subsidizes the educational cost of every student enrolled in our school.
3. No child is to be denied a Catholic education due to insufficient financial resources. Parents experiencing such a financial hardship can apply for Tuition Assistance. Forms are available in the office.
4. Non-custodial parents are encouraged to assist the custodial parents in the payment of tuition for your child/children. Such assistance will most likely be guaranteed only if the non-custodial parent agrees to signing a tuition agreement which states the amount of expected assistance mutually agreed upon with the custodial parent. If the non-custodial parent refuses to commit to a shared tuition agreement, then we will expect the custodial parent to assume the responsibility of full tuition payments.
5. All families registered for the current school year must sign a Tuition Agreement Form stating your responsibility regarding tuition payment.
6. Refund Policy. The school year is divided on a quarterly basis, both academically and financially. A student attending any part of an academic quarter is not eligible for a tuition refund for that particular quarter. Refunds are based only on unused school quarters.
7. Any account that is sixty (60) days past due and no arrangements have been made with the Principal will result in student's dismissal from St. Mary's School.
